Boil Water Advisory Has Been Lifted

July 27, 2007, 12:30 p.m.

Mount Pleasant Waterworks advises residents who live in Cooper’s Landing, Cooper’s Point, and Landings Run residents near Whipple Road that they no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.

An isolated water line break Thursday morning caused the low system pressure that was contained to these communities. After the line was repaired, MPW Water Quality crews then conducted an intense flushing of the distribution system, and bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the Mount Pleasant Waterworks lab. The results of this sampling indicate that the system is now safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.
